What Divipraa is actually made of
Full transparency, no marketing fog. Divipraa is artificial / imitation jewellery — gold-toned and emerald-inspired, never real gold and never real gemstones. Here is every material we use and exactly why it is gentle on skin.
The material list
Brass & hypoallergenic alloy base
The structural body of every piece. Brass is chosen for its weight, warmth and ability to hold fine detail. Lightweight designs use a skin-safe zinc alloy so larger statement pieces stay comfortable all evening.
Nickel-free gold-tone plating
A micron gold-tone electroplate applied over a barrier layer. It gives the warm 22k-look colour without any real gold — and critically, without nickel, the metal responsible for the vast majority of jewellery contact allergies.
Anti-tarnish protective lacquer
A clear, food-grade-style sealing coat over the plating. It slows oxidation, prevents the plating from reacting with sweat and cosmetics, and is why Divipraa pieces stay bright far longer than untreated costume jewellery.
CZ, glass, resin & faux pearl stones
Hand-set cubic zirconia, cut glass, coloured resin and shell-based faux pearls. These are emerald-inspired, ruby-inspired and diamond-inspired — deliberately so. No mined or lab-grown gemstones are used anywhere in the range.
Surgical-steel & silicone findings
Ear posts, hooks and backings on stud and jhumka styles use surgical stainless steel or silicone, the two materials most tolerated by pierced and reactive skin.
What “hypoallergenic” means here
Most jewellery reactions are not caused by gold-tone colour — they are caused by nickel leaching out of a cheap base metal through worn plating. Nickel allergy affects roughly one in six people, and it is the single reason so many people “can't wear fashion jewellery”.
Divipraa removes that variable at the source: the plating bath is nickel-free, a barrier layer sits between the base metal and your skin, and the anti-tarnish lacquer seals the whole surface. That combination is what lets us describe our pieces as skin-friendly and hypoallergenic.
We also keep the range lead-free and cadmium-free, and we use surgical steel or silicone for anything that passes through a piercing.
An honest caveat
“Hypoallergenic” means far less likely to cause a reaction — not medically impossible. A small number of people react to brass, copper or even surgical steel. If you have a diagnosed metal sensitivity, patch-test a new piece for a few hours before wearing it all day, and reach out to us — we will happily point you to the styles in the range with the most skin-contact-friendly findings.
Keeping the finish (and the skin-safety) intact
- Perfume, lotion and hairspray go on first — jewellery goes on last.
- Remove before showering, swimming and sleeping.
- Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after wear; never use liquid metal polish.
- Store in the pouch provided, away from humidity and direct sunlight.
