Gold-Plated Artificial Jewellery

Gold-plated means a microscopically thin layer of gold-coloured finish bonded onto a base metal. It is not solid gold and it never will be — anyone selling it as an investment is selling you something else. What plating does buy is the warmth and depth of gold at a fraction of the price, on a piece you can actually wear out.

Plating thickness is the whole game. Thin flash plating rubs through at the contact points within weeks; the heavier plate we specify, plus a protective seal, keeps the tone even across the piece for far longer. Rings and bracelets always wear faster than earrings, because hands live a harder life.
